The Marca GTO distinctive certifies quality products made in Guanajuato that are unique in the world. Today, on behalf of the State Governor, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, the head of the SDES presented the 4,000th distinctive, recognizing the work of producers from various sectors to continue the commercial drive in the state.
Guanajuato is the only state in the country that has this public policy, which aims to position a brand distinctive through a methodology validated by a certifying body.
Thanks to the participation of society and the coordinated work with the State Government, the SDES, in 2015, generated the GTO Brand Distinction, which represents the recognition of “Well done”, since it considers 4 dimensions: distinctive origin, representative of quality, commercial reference and business commitment.
Within the framework of this delivery, the signing of the collaboration agreement between the Secretariat of Sustainable Economic Development (SDES), Visa and BanBajío was carried out, with the aim of implementing actions that allow strengthening and accelerating the financial inclusion of the State's MSMEs, promoting greater financial training and facilitating their transition to digitalization.
“We continue to promote sustainable, balanced and equitable development, and therefore, within this process, the participation of the private sector in the construction and implementation of development strategies becomes indispensable. Partnerships such as this one, with Visa and BanBajío, allow us to advance in actions aimed at growth, digitalization and development opportunities that exist in the country,” the Secretary emphasized.
With this collaboration agreement, Guanajuato SMEs will be able to access the training platform ENKO , to receive training in topics such as: personal development, sales, administration, finance and marketing.
Luz Adriana Ramirez Chavez, General Manager of Visa Mexico, highlighted that “Digital payments serve as a means of access to financial and digital inclusion, generating inclusive economic development in our country. The increase in technological and mobile phone penetration offers an enormous opportunity to reach SMEs and accelerate their digitalization with secure, flexible, low-cost and simple digital payment acceptance solutions. We are committed to generating alliances like this one, with the Government of Guanajuato and BanBajío, to strengthen the owners of Guanajuato SMEs, and thus build more competitive and resilient businesses.”
Another benefit for participating SMEs will be the possibility of accessing specialized advice from BanBajío to find the right solution to accept card payments for their business.
For his part, Joaquín Domínguez Cuenca, Executive Director of Finance and Treasury at BanBajío, said: “We are the Bank of the Home. Since our beginnings, we have supported entrepreneurs in their projects. We provide personalized attention with our team to design financial solutions for each MSME according to their needs. We are convinced that collaborations like this are the way to achieve better results. At BanBajío, we are on the path to a profound Digital Transformation. We agree with the idea of bringing technology and innovation closer to entrepreneurs to create solutions that contribute to their growth and to the comprehensive development of Guanajuato.”
With these actions, the State Government continues to work for the benefit of local businesses, providing them with tools that allow them to access new marketing spaces and thus continue to reactivate and recover the State's economy.
The event was attended by Alejandra Gutierrez Campos, Mayor of Leon; Veronica Zambrano Valderrama, representing the transportation company Julian Obregon; Luis Eduardo Alarcon Nunez, New Business Manager of the Mexican Institute of Standardization and Certification (IMNC); Luz Adriana Ramirez Chavez, General Director of VISA Mexico; Joaquin David Dominguez Cuenca, Executive Director of BanBajio; Patricia Garcia Jauregui, President of COFOCI; and Froylan Salas Navarro, Undersecretary for the Development of MSMEs of SDES.
